Here’s an update on our work to tackle knife crime in your area. We’re committed to making our neighbourhood safer for everyone. We would like to inform residents about a recent incident in the Mayton Street,N7 area and provide reassurance regarding the action taken by officers.
Yesterday 4th AUGUST 2026, police received a report from members of the community concerning a male who was allegedly in possession of a knife and behaving in a threatening manner towards members of the public following an altercation on Mayton Street,N7.
Prior to officers arriving at the location, the suspect left the area in a vehicle. Thanks to the information provided by local residents and the swift response of attending officers, the individual was located and detained a short distance away.
Following enquiries, the male was arrested on suspicion of the following offences:
• Possession of an offensive weapon
• Possession of controlled drugs
• Driving whilst disqualified
• Driving without insurance
• Affray
The individual remains subject to the criminal justice process, and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
